Inspiration

 Originally from the Lake District, I love painting Cumbrian scenery. Based in the West Country, just outside Bath, we have Cornwall on the doorstep. I enjoy painting the rugged scenery and atmospheric weather, as well as the gentle scenery along the River Avon.  

I studied Art as well as Art History at school,  but went onto read English Literature, and then to teach English. I now paint full time and have taken courses at Bath Art Studios and the St Ives School of Painting.  

My preferred medium is oils but I enjoy experimenting with mixed media including acrylics, inks and other mediums. For portraits I typically use oil paints or oil pastels.
